Our experienced teachers are engaged and enthusiastically approach teaching with the goal of sharing a love of learning! We believe that having qualified teachers is of utmost importance. All of our teachers have bachelor’s degrees and many have also earned master’s degrees or teaching credentials.

I was raised in a suburb of Denver, Colorado. While I’m not a Texas native, I quickly fell in love with Texas (except for the never ending heat!). I attended private, Christian schools from Kindergarten through College. It was very clear to me from an early age that I was called to teach. It brings me so much joy to see others learn and I truly believe the gifts that God has given me lend itself toward teaching. I attended Concordia University in Seward, Nebraska in pursuit of a degree in elementary education and graduated in 2015. I met my husband in college and we have since had 2 daughters together.
I never thought I would teach in the public school system, but God had bigger plans for me! My first seven years of teaching was in Rockwall ISD. God used this time to grow me in the boldness of my faith, teaching me to live out my faith in a way that would stand out when I couldn’t speak clearly about it. The Lord also used this time to shape me and convict me to live a life informed by HIS word rather than the world.
As our family grew, it was very clear that God’s call for me was to give more of my time to my family. Providence Academy has been an answer to prayer. I’m so encouraged by the intentional disciple making and value of family that this school has. I’m grateful to be able to teach at Providence Academy.

I grew up in Huntsville, AL in a wonderful family. My mother homeschooled me Kindergarten through 12th grade, which gives me an interesting perspective for being a teacher at Providence…
After graduating from Troy University in Alabama, I worked in College ministry for 4 years. My husband and I married in 2015. We experienced many adventures early on because the Army moved us all over the country! It was during these years, we had our two children (our daughter will join me at Providence this year.) We made our move to the Rockwall area after my husband left the Army and took a job in Dallas.
I have always loved early childhood education and, as a result, have worked in various preschool and childcare teaching positions, most recently at a Montessori School in the Rockwall area. I love the excitement, play, and joy of learning at this young, tender age!
My husband and I discussed education options for our own kids and prayed earnestly about homeschooling. During this process, we came across Providence, learned more about the University-Model and classical education, and just knew it was the place for our family! We are so thankful God brought us here!

As a child, I spent my allowances on carbon paper so that I could type on my typewriter multiple copies of worksheets for my imaginary students. I logged thousands of hours playing school and had my mom find old teacher editions of textbooks to add to my ever-growing curriculum collection. When my parents hung a chalkboard and roll-down world map in my room at home, I was thrilled! My sister and I tried many times to make our own overhead projector using a magnifying glass and a flashlight, but my dream of owning my very own transparency machine was realized as an adult when I found a machine to use with my daughters during our early days of homeschooling. My passion for teaching goes back many years! …
As a student at Texas A&M University in College Station, I decided that I wanted to pursue a career in counseling, so I majored in psychology with an emphasis in Spanish. It wasn’t long before I realized that I couldn’t escape my love for teaching, so after graduating summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree, I enrolled as a Master of Education student, specializing in curriculum and instruction. While attending graduate school, I taught in the tiny town of Caldwell, Texas and later accepted a position teaching in Grapevine-Colleyville ISD. I went from teaching in Colleyville to the corporate world, working as a representative and curriculum specialist at McGraw-Hill, a textbook publisher. I worked with teachers in public and private schools in grades PK-12 and developed an even deeper love of textbooks, phonics, curriculum, and the art of teaching.
I became a stay-at-home mom after our first daughter was born in 2009. She and I share a birthday – January 1! (We were the first babies born in Baylor Garland Hospital in our respective birth years.) As a stay-at-home mom, I began teaching group fitness classes, such as cycle, step, kickboxing, and Pilates, which I still teach a few times per week. Since 2009, my husband and I have added two more daughters to our family. We are excited to have all three girls at Providence.
I also love music. I grew up learning to play the piano and handbells and later added the oboe and percussion instruments in the orchestra and marching band. I have recently purchased a small harp that I use with my children at home for family worship, and I’m excited to share it with my kindergarten students this school year.
I love the Word of God and have a passion for integrating the Word into the curriculum, which is just one reason why I love Providence. I look forward to sharing beautiful curriculum, music, and Bible truths with my students this year!

Kindergarten Teacher
God led us to Providence two years ago when we were searching for a school for my daughter. And now I have the pleasure of joining the Providence family in the role of Kindergarten teacher…
I was born in East Texas and as a kid moved with my family to California. We returned to Texas when I was in high school. After graduation, I moved to Tulsa, OK and attended college at Oral Roberts University. I met my husband at ORU. We have been married 10 years and have a daughter and a son, who both attend Providence.
I have a BS in psychology, a minor in humanities, and am currently seeking a masters in marriage and family therapy. My heart has always been to help others. Walking down this path of learning about others and how to help guide them to grow in different areas has helped mold me as a mother, wife, person, and now teacher.
Although I graduated with a psychology degree, my heart’s desire was to be an education major. I discovered my love for teaching from my 4th grade teacher. She influenced me in such a positive way. Her love of learning, and her passion to pass that along to her students resonated with me. I remember coming home to my mom declaring that one day I would be a 4th grade teacher, so I could also help others love learning. While it’s not 4th grade, I am thrilled at the opportunity God has given me to shepherd sweet Kindergarten kiddos, who will not only grow this school year in knowledge, but also in God’s word and his plan for their lives.

“Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” Proverbs 22:6
For the past 25 years, I have been honored to educate children in public, private, church, and homeschool settings. My husband of 25 years and I classically homeschooled our daughter until we joined the Providence Academy family her freshman year.
I was born and raised in Plano, Texas, and was blessed to grow up in a loving Christian home. I was saved at a young age and have spent a lifetime learning to follow the path God has prepared for me….
In 1996, I graduated from Texas A&M University with a degree in History and Education. After college, I spent ten years working with learning different students at the Shelton School, both as a teacher and administrator. During this time, I earned my master’s degree in Educational Administration from Dallas Baptist University. Then, I spent several years teaching in Garland ISD until the birth of our daughter in 2007. Over the past fifteen years, I have taught in homeschool co-op settings, working with students from preschool thru high school in various enrichment, elective, and core classes.

I am so excited to be joining the Providence family! Teaching is one of my passions and this year will mark my 10th year in the classroom. Being at Providence with my husband is truly an answered prayer and we look forward to this chapter.I’m from Miami, FL…
I am grateful to have been raised in a loving Christian home. I went to college at the University of Central Florida and actually started a career as an animal trainer at Sea World. After a few years, I felt God calling me into a different direction so I moved back home, met my husband, and started a new career path in education. I taught elementary school for seven years and earned a master’s degree in educational leadership. In 2014, my husband and I had our first child; I was blessed to be able to stay home for the next few years to care for our three babies. God led our family to Rockwall three years ago, which we love calling home. The past two years, I’ve had the privilege of working at Lakepointe’s MDO program as a pre-k teacher but I’m looking forward to being back in a 1st grade classroom where I first began teaching.

My husband Justin and I have been married 14 years. The Lord has blessed us with 3 beautiful daughters, two attend Providence Academy. I received a Bachelor of Science in Child and Family Studies from Tarleton State University in 2002 and received my EC-4th ESL teaching certification from their TMATE program in 2004…
As a child and teenager I was homeschooled with my 7 siblings and my husband was in public school. So when our oldest daughter was 3 we began to pray and seek how the Lord would have us to educate her. After two years of praying we discovered Providence, from a stranger, at a museum an hour away. After researching Providence and the University Model School, it became apparent that it was a perfect fit for our family. Now 3 years later both of our children are surrounded here by God’s Word and His people. They are getting a Biblically sound, academically exemplary education which integrates and encourages home and family. I feel that they are getting the best of both worlds.
As a teacher I love engaging children in learning and really enjoy intertwining God’s word into every day and every subject area. Even as a little girl, I always wanted to be a teacher and I loved pretending to be a teacher and playing school. I have a passion for planting a love for learning in children at an early age and building a firm foundation in the early years that will allow children to grow and become successful lifelong learners. I feel blessed to be a part of the loving Christian education environment your child will receive at Providence.
Two scriptures that are of great comfort to me in my life are Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the thoughts I think towards you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. Psalm 46:10 Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!

2ND GRADE TEACHER
I met my husband of 15 years while attending college at Texas A&M-Commerce. After graduating with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies, I began my teaching career in Sunnyvale ISD where I taught 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade. In 2013, my husband and I began praying for wisdom and direction as we made decisions in how we wanted to educate our children. It was so humbling to see how God worked through people in our lives to introduce us to Providence Academy while at the same time giving me the opportunity to move out of the classroom and into a part-time position as a Math Intervention Specialist. During this time, I loved being home with my kids, becoming a part of the Providence family, and expanding my knowledge in the education field.
In 2018, God guided us through some difficult changes we never saw coming! I took a position at Poetry Community Christion School as a small-group math teacher working with students in 2nd through 7th grade. Once again I was presented with the opportunity to broaden my experience and learn something new…which I love! Our family spent three years at Poetry before we felt God calling us back to Providence Academy. My husband and I are so grateful for God’s grace, timing, and guidance. Over the past 15 years, He has continued to bless us with friendships, opportunity, and wisdom. A verse I continue to lean on is Proverbs 3:5-6. Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.

As a six-year-old girl, the Lord drew me to Himself, and I accepted Jesus as my Savior. By the age of ten I sensed the Lord calling me to missions. I graduated from Ouachita Baptist University in 1999 with a B.S. in Elementary Education. I moved home and taught elementary public school for four years. I went on to pursue my masters degree at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and graduated in 2005 with a Masters in Christian Education with a concentration in Missions. I had plans to go overseas to teach in an international school, but the Lord had other plans. I moved to the beautiful Knoxville, TN and worked on church staff in a variety of positions. While living there, I met and married my husband and had three children.
In 2016, we moved back to Texas and started putting down roots. During that time, I spent some time back in public school as an acceleration tutor in K-2. Then I moved to a private school where I taught grades 2nd-4thgraders with learning differences. Last year I had the privilege to teach Kindergarten at a refugee center in Garland, which was a sweet gift from the Lord.
I am passionate about teaching and missions! The Lord continues to show me all the ways I can use both to glorify Him. Our family is excited about joining in all God is doing here at Providence.

I taught for eight years in Mesquite ISD as a special education teacher. For Providence, I have taught both Art History and Kindergarten.
My husband, Conrad, and I have been married for 15 years and have 3 children – Lilli, Gracie, and Maxwell. We love the flexibility of the university school model and the responsibility it teaches our children. We also appreciate the depth and the rich history of the classical model and are thankful that our school provides both. We have attended Rockwall Presbyterian Church for the last 10 years.

I am Pat Corwin and the Lord’s path for my life began in Ecuador South America where I was born to loving and wise parents. My family immigrated to the USA for a better life and opportunities. I spent my childhood in NYC until my Junior year in HS when we moved to Garland Texas….
I went to Eastfield College and North Texas to fulfill my dream of becoming a teacher. I graduated with a degree in Elementary Education from The University of Texas at Austin. In 2021 I retired from 32 years in Public Education. I had the pleasure of teaching and serving in Dallas, Garland, and Rockwall ISD’ s.
I am delighted to be a part of Providence Academy this year teaching 3rd grade plus as a bonus to be on the same campus with my grandboys Hendrix in 1st grade and Cooper in 4th grade. Two years ago, a friend from church introduced me to Providence, and began praying how the Lord would use this school in my future. With God’s guidance I was led to visit Providence last Fall for a school tour and quickly became interested with this school, staff, students, and the Classical University school model. As a family we are thankful for God’s direction that has brought us here and to walk this day and time with all of you.
After 36 years of marriage, Louie and I are empty nesters. We have been blessed with 2 adult children and 4 grand treasures. We enjoy all things outdoors including 4 wheeling, hiking, camping and lake/river activities.

I am a Jesus-loving, coffee-drinking Texan! After graduating from high school in 1999, I attended ESS College of Business earning an Associate Degree in 2000. While working full time as an administrative assistant for commercial real estate and being a newlywed, I went on to earn my Bachelor of Business Studies from Dallas Baptist University in 2004, graduating Magna Cum Laude. In 2007, I felt a desire to earn my alternative teaching certificate through ACT Houston at Dallas. Soon after receiving my certificate, I had my twin boys in 2008 and quit my property management job to stay home and raise our children. I joined the Providence Academy team as a teacher in 2013 when my boys started Kindergarten.
My husband and I desire to live out the Bible verse, “Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.” Proverbs 22:6. Providence Academy has helped us to live out this verse. The teachers and staff love the Lord dearly and want each student to see God in every aspect of life, not just in a box sitting to the side. Because of the close parental involvement, my husband and I have had many meaningful conversations with our children about God. Sharing the Gospel, with my own children and with my students, is my favorite part about teaching. My desire as a teacher is for students to grow to love the Lord and work diligently for Him. When they can understand this, they will provide their best effort in all they do. I look forward to being able to share what is true, good, and beautiful with my students.

I was raised by my parents in the small west Texas town of Southland with my four sisters. My parents faithfully took me to church and I made a profession of faith at a young age; however, I did not come to know Jesus in a saving way until after I was married. …
Growing up I attended our town’s little school of 200 students. I loved sports and had the opportunity to play basketball, tennis, cheerlead, and run track. After high school I went to college at Texas Tech where I graduated with a degree in education and minor in math. I then moved to Dallas to teach middle school math.
Shortly after, I married my husband Brian and after my second child was born, I began life as a stay-at-home mom. During this time I started attending a Bible study and through God’s Word, the Holy Spirit began opening my eyes to the holiness of God and my sinful heart. Many things started to change in my life, including my desire to homeschool. I took my oldest child out of public school and began to homeschool my two children. I now have 5 children. My oldest just graduated, I have 3 attending Providence, and 1 more not yet school age. I am so excited to be part of the Providence family and am thankful for God’s grace in leading us here.

I was among the first generation of classically educated students when the classical movement first saw its resurgence. I have since taught at the grammar level in multiple Dallas-area classical schools, homeschooled my own children, and been instrumental in founding a Charlotte Mason-based homeschool co-op. I have a B.A. in Music from Covenant College in Lookout Mountain, GA and finished my degree vowing that I would never teach. In the mysterious way the Lord works, He gently led me to what has become my passion and calling. I have spent the last several years earning a Master’s degree in Classical Education at the University of Dallas. While there, I worked with Angel Parham and the Nyansa Classical Community to integrate the black intellectual tradition into the classical canon. As part of that project, I helped formalize and develop multi-ethnic virtue-based classical curriculum. My family and I have also recently started the LLF Library, which offers the very best living children’s literature to the Dallas-area community.
I have three children, a loving husband, and a rambunctious dog named Ranger. We love being outside, exploring new places, taking walks, climbing rocks, and playing in the water. We consider each of those activities to be even better if we can do them in the mountains!

I became a Christian at the age of nine, and even before that time the Lord had begun to impress upon my heart the love of teaching. Answering His call, I attended East Texas Baptist University where I received my Bachelor of Science in elementary education with a minor in mathematics. After college, I taught for 13 years in public school from 1st to 5th grades. My husband Mark and I were blessed with a son, at which time I became a stay at home mom. When our son reached school age, we began to pray for God’s guidance regarding schooling. Having both grown up attending Christian School we knew the value of Christian education. For the last five years, I have been teaching and my son has been attending a local private Christian school. After much prayer, we have been led to Providence Academy. Our family looks forward to being an integral part of the school….

I grew up in East Texas where I developed a love for performing arts and tumbling. After attending the University of Texas at Arlington on a cheerleading scholarship and winning a National Championship in 2014, the Lord led to me East Texas Baptist University to pursue a degree in Theatre Arts…
It was there that I matured in my relationship with Christ, grew to love the art form of live storytelling, and met my best friend and wonderful husband Tyler Cureton. Logic and Theology
I have been married to my high school sweetheart, Mark, for thirty-three years. We have three adult daughters and three sons-in-law. I graduated from Dallas Theological Seminary in 2012 with a Master of Theology (Th.M., Bible Exposition). Currently, I am working on my Ph.D. in Old Testament studies at Dallas Theological Seminary with plans to graduate in 2022…
A paradigm shift occurred in my faith journey in 2007 in response to the words of Jesus to the first-century Pharisee who tested Him by asking, “Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?” (Matt 22:36). Jesus responded with a quote from Deuteronomy 6:5, “You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind” (Matt 22:37). After years of both studying and teaching the Bible, I was compelled by the Spirit of God to love God with all of my mind, which initiated my study of the Bible in higher education.
My prayer is that our students move away from secular emotionalism to complete heart, soul, and mind devotion to God on the basis of sound logic and Christian theological truth. Right-thinking about God results in Spirit-led life transformation that endures. My passion is to lead students into the truth of God that results in a lifetime of vibrant, fruitful relationship with God.

God has granted me with the great honor and privilege of growing up in a loving Christian home. I was saved at an early age and my love for Jesus has only grown since I came to know Him. Being the oldest of twelve children, I come from a large, loud, and fun-loving family. My parents homeschooled and chose the classical education model as their guide. When I was thirteen, they moved us out to a lovely twenty acre plot of woods and creek where we built a small house and enjoyed a little bit of the “homesteader” lifestyle. That was where I really fell in love with the countryside and all the adventures that come with it. I learned so many life lessons and skills out there!
After graduating high school, I spent a year taking CLEP exams and earning some basic college credits. I then started my undergrad at Texas A&M University-Commerce as a piano performance major. I had been in piano lessons since age six and during my high school years I was with an excellent and serious teacher. I completed both my BM as well as my MM at TAMU-Commerce as a piano major. Besides the piano, I also studied organ and vocal performance during college. I had the opportunity to accompany the choirs as well as sing in them during that time. I also accompanied the vocal studio classes and private lessons for many of the singers. Since then, I have continued to work with community, school, and church choirs as an accompanist.
I discovered my love for teaching when I began giving my first piano lessons during high school. Throughout college, I continued to teach private lessons and now I maintain a studio of roughly forty-five fantastic piano students. I absolutely love it! Besides teaching, I am also the staff pianist at McKinney Bible Church where I play for church on Sunday as well as direct the choirs. One of my favorite things is getting to work with young musicians and I am so thrilled to have the opportunity to share my love of music with students at Providence Academy. It is also such a joy to be able to show students how to worship God through music and to glorify Him with praise and thanksgiving. Music is a great gift that God has given to us that we might give back to Him. “He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God; many will see and fear and will trust in the Lord” –Psalm 40:3

I am originally from Lubbock, TX. I came to know the Lord at a very young age and had the privilege of growing up on the mission field. I lived ten years in Costa Rica and Mexico City. I attended Texas Tech University and graduated with a B.A. in Spanish. My family and I relocated to Rockwall from Lubbock, TX. I have been married for 17 years and have four amazing kids. Teaching children is my passion! I have been teaching at Providence Academy since 2013. One of my favorite verses in the Bible is Isaiah 41:10. It says, “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” This verse has always been a comfort to me knowing that whatever I do or wherever I am, God is right there beside me sustaining and encouraging me!!

I have always known that God called me to be a math teacher and then a mom, just like my mom (who is also a Providence Academy math teacher!). In 2017, I not only graduated from Dallas Baptist University with 4-8 and 7-12 math certifications, but also married my husband, Cody. After 5 years of teaching Algebra I in public schools, I was fortunate to be able leave a full time teaching career and stay home with my newborn daughter. I am so excited that I get to teach at Providence Academy and still be a stay at home mom to my beautiful little girl. My passions are math, teaching, and Jesus!

I have either been teaching someone (or something!) or had my nose in a book for as long as I can remember. That path led me to graduate from Stephen F. Austin State University with a degree in English and history education with a teacher certification in 4th-12th grade English and social studies. After college, I taught in public schools for seven years. The Lord then blessed my husband and I with two sweet girls, and I decided to homeschool and teach humanities at a co-op in Houston…
I desire for all my students to seek truth, goodness, and beauty in all that they do. And most of all read, read, and read some more! The power of great books to develop faith, character, and intellect is unequivocal. I am truly passionate about students growing in their ability to think critically and communicate effectively. (“A word aptly spoken is like apples of gold in settings of silver.” Proverbs 25:11) My hope is for all students to find their inner communicator and logically, beautifully, and meaningfully convey their ideas.
I currently enjoy this season of being a mom. It is a blessing to grow in my walk with the Lord while simultaneously training up my daughters to have a heart for loving God and serving others. We strive to live by these words of Anne Frank: “How wonderful it is that nobody need wait a single moment before starting to improve the world.”

I grew up in a loving Christian home in Louisiana then Florida. I attended Abilene Christian University, where I discovered my love of history. I had the privilege of working at a small local museum and took part in coursework in England which shaped my love of traveling and things of the past. ACU is also where I met my best friend and husband, Brad. We made a home in Rockwall and I continued to pursue my education at the University of Texas at Arlington and the University of North Texas while also working in a number of museums and libraries. The Lord opened the door to teaching at Dallas County Community College and Amberton University, where I served as adjunct faculty and taught U.S. History for over ten years…
In this new season starting in 2022, I was thrilled to join my two daughters at Providence to teach history for middle school and now offer dual credit history for high school. The study of history is a fantastic opportunity to encourage wonder, reverence, and awe at the handiwork of God and His activity in the world. As students journey through the highs and lows of the human story, we are reminded that “many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the Lord that will stand.” (Proverbs 19:21)
